“We, Filipinos, deserve better”, says Sara Duterte

Speaking of the government and its representatives as “mere individuals willing to deceive the people” in order to remain in office, Vice President Sara Duterte criticized them on Tuesday for “continuously” enabling Filipinos to go without food, live in poverty, and be at risk of crime.

“We are so tired of seeing the people being left behind, treated as worthless, unpleasant and subjugated to another race. We, Filipinos, deserve more than what we are hearing and seeing from the government right now. We, Filipinos, deserve better,” Duterte said.

Instead of giving the job to people who have broken their oath of office, Duterte claimed that the country should be led by people who genuinely care about the citizens and have the ability of fostering prosperity through a transparent government.

“Because of this, the only thing that prevails over us is fear for the future of our children,” she stated.

In addition to condemning the lack of an extensive strategy and stable infrastructure from disasters, the Vice President brought attention to the intensification of the southwest monsoon and Typhoon Carina two weeks prior.

“But the Philippines now has a government that admits that we don’t even have a flood-control master plan,” Duterte added.

A health care system that “truly takes care of the health of each Filipino and to mitigate medical expenses whenever disaster strikes,” as per Duterte, should be in place throughout the country.
