The allegedly“Blue Box” did not undergo X-ray scanners before entering the compound according to some KOJC members who protested against the move.
Around 100 members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) entered earlier in the compound as the search for Pastor Apollo Quiboloy reached its sixth day.
An apparatus also brought by the PNP called a long-range acoustic device or LRAD, this device is commonly used for maritime and perimeter security as well as a method for crowd control.
The PNP has refuted claims made by the Quiboloy-owned media outlet SMNI, which alleged that the police threatened to bomb the KOJC cathedral if the congregation did not hand over their leader within two hours.
Since August 24 the PNP has been in the compound to serve a warrant of arrest on Quiboloy, who is charged under Section 5(b) and Section 10(a) of Republic Act 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act.
He is also facing a non-bailable charge of qualified human trafficking under Section 4(a) of Republic Act No. 9208, as amended, in a Pasig court.
Also, he has been indicted by a federal grand jury in the US District Court for the Central District of California on charges of conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking by force, fraud, and coercion; sex trafficking of children; conspiracy; and bulk cash smuggling.
He refused to attend the chamber’s hearings so the Senate issued an arrest order against him and Quiboloy went into hiding shortly.
Quiboloy’s camp has consistently denied the allegations against him.
