Pedestrian crossing in Quezon City painted pink in celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month

The pedestrian lane in Gen. Aguinaldo and Gen. Malvar streets in Quezon City were painted pink.

This action was done to show support for those fighting, surviving cancer and those advocating for the celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

One in every ten deaths occurs due to breast cancer and is the third leading cause of cancer mortality in the Philippines, according to Global Cancer Observatory’s 2020 report. It is strongly advised to implement early detection and treatment to further increase breast cancer survival rates in the country.
