House passes 7 national bills

The House of Representatives under the leadership of Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez approved 27 bills, including seven national bills and 20 local bills on the Third and Final Regular Session of the 19th Congress on July 30.

The house bills approved incline to resolve and continue to build and prosper the future of Filipinos, says House on Tuesday.

House Bill No. 102 ensures an affordable yet decent pricing of caskets with no more than the amount of twenty thousand pesos (20, 000) in all establishments. In case of unavailability, they shall offer a higher value of casket, but with people inside the indigent sector and considered to be in a poor family of the dead, they shall not pay more than PHP 20, 000.

House Bill No. 9873 states that the month of December will be considered as the “National Volunteer Month” in the Philippines.

House Bill No. 10289 or known as “Roll-Over Internet Act” mandates all Internet Service Providers (ISPs), allowing internet plan users to consume their unused data.

In Addition to the proposed Act, any ISPs who fail to comply will be fined fifty thousand pesos (50,000) for every violation per subscriber.

House Bill No. 10422 seeks to further strengthen the country’s response for natural disasters under “Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010”.

The bill expands to ensure the commitment of the youth sector to be involved in the country’s disaster risk management.

House Bill No. 10424, approved as “Motorcycles for Hire Act” to measure mechanisms and provide operation of motorcycles for hire to the public.

House Bill No. 10439, proposed as “ Access to Medical Cannabis Act” to allow access for medical patients to use medical cannabis.

House Bill No. 10466, to adjust the budget pension under the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) based on the salary grade of their retirement.

The remaining local house bills belong to the following sectors: Basic Education (HB 10396; HB 10397; HB 10440; HB 10441; 10442; HB 10443), Higher and Technical Education (HB 10404; HB 10405; HB 10406; HB 10407; HB 10408, HB 10409; HB 10410; HB 10411; HB 10446; HB 10447), and Hospitals (HB 10418; HB 10444; HB 10445; HB 10472).
