Creamline breakdown the defending champion Petro Gazz Angels

The Creamline Cool Smashers secure a semifinals spot against the Petro Gazz Angels on Tuesday in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference at Filoil EcoOil Centre. Cool Smashers won three straight sets 25-23, 25-29, 25-18.

The American import, Erica Staunton has been consistent with her performance contributing tremendous points, 19 points for her, 16 points from attacks and 3 points for her monster block.

Along with Erica, the local player Bernadeth Pons also stepped up providing a huge number of points, disrupting the Petro Gazz defense pattern. 

Erica Staunton admired the creamline players  “I’m just overall very excited. I did not want to be done playing with this team, I love playing with these girls. I would’ve been devastated if today was my last day.”

“So, I’m just really happy that we extended our run and we’re fighting for the semis now.” She added

Creamline faced the Cignal HD on August 29 to secure the final spot. The four remaining teams, Akari,PLDT,Creamline and Cignal also move on to the upcoming PVL Invitational Conference, which will feature the 2 guest foreign teams.
