Chua swims to a new Philippine 400m medley best in the Australian swim tilt

Xiandi Chua, a Filipino swimmer, broke a new Philippine best during the women’s 400-meter individual medley at the 2024 Australian Short Course Swimming Championship in Adelaide.

On Friday, the 23-year-old finished third in the following set of three heats of the 400m individual medley in 4:45.41, trailing the sole heat winner Tara Kinder 4:41.95 and Amelie Smith 4:44.09.

She additionally surpassed the qualifying time for the World Cup Short Course Championship, which will be held in Budapest, Hungary, from December 10-15.

The La Salle swimmer earned 723 World Aquatics points throughout the National Trials last month, qualifying her for the Philippine World Series team.
