Tanauan’s Silver Milestone: A Grand Celebration of Heritage, Progress, and Unity

The City of Tanauan marked yet another historic milestone as Tanaueños gathered to participate in the city’s week-long 25th Cityhood anniversary celebration.

Leading the grand celebration were Mayor Sonny Perez Collantes, together with Congressman Atty. King Collantes, TCWCC President Atty. Cristine Collantes, and Vice Mayor Dodong Ablao.

From the elegance of Binibining Tanauan, to the powerful performances of the Tan-a-we Festival Court and Street Dance Competitions and the eye-catching Landfloat Parade, the celebration reflected the spirit of a city moving forward together.

Throughout the celebration, one message resonated across every performance, parade, and gathering: Tanauan as One, Walang Maiiwan.

Binibining Tanauan 2026

One of the most anticipated highlights of the anniversary was the Grand Pageant Night of Binibining Tanauan 2026, where Plaza Mabini was filled with cheers as the city crowned its new queens.

The pageant began with 33 candidates who proudly represented their barangays and embodied the grace, intelligence, and determination of a modern Tanaueña. Through a series of competitions—including the Production Number and Theme Wear, Swimwear, Evening Gown, and the Question and Answer portion—the candidates showcased not only beauty and elegance but also confidence, advocacy, and leadership.

At the end of the inspiring evening, Ma. Carmela Ann Calingasan of Barangay Poblacion III was crowned Binibining Tanauan 2026, joined by 1st Runner-Up Mikkyla Jed Garcia of Darasa, 2nd Runner-Up Hillary Faith Gregory of Banjo East, 3rd Runner-Up Khaira Marie Dulongbinti of Hidalgo, and 4th Runner-Up Precious Jel Morren Asombrado of Sala.

Tan-a-we Festival Court Dance Competition

The celebration of culture continued with the Tan-a-we Festival Court Dance Competition, where six clusters representing the city’s barangays performed grand choreographed productions at Plaza Mabini.

Through vibrant costumes, grand props, and synchonized movements, the performers brought to life stories that celebrated the heritage and identity of the Tanaueño people.

At the end of the competition, Cluster 1 was hailed as the Champion, followed by Cluster 4 as 1st Runner-Up, and Cluster 3 as 2nd Runner-Up.

Tan-a-we Festival Street Dance and Landfloat Parade

The streets of Tanauan City came alive with rhythmic drumbeats, bursts of creativity, and the proud spirit of every Tanaueño as the city marked its grand celebration of 25th Cityhood Anniversary through the much-awaited Tan-A-We Festival Street Dance Competition and Landfloat Parade.

Thousands gathered along the city’s main roads to witness the show that turned Tanauan into a living art of culture, creativity, and community spirit.

Leading the parade were Mayor Sonny Perez Collantes, together with Congressman Atty. King Collantes, Vice Mayor Dodong Ablao, and members of the Sangguniang Panglungsod, joined by city officials, employees, and representatives of various organizations who proudly marched alongside the people they serve.

The celebration featured the six clusters and 25 vibrant and creatively designed landfloats representing communities, organizations, and local establishments.

Adding elegance and festivity to the parade were the newly crowned Binibining Tanauan queens.

The parade route started in Waltermart, turned left to Victory Mall, looped back to J.P. Laurel Highway, and made its way to Plaza Mabini, where many Tanaueños eagerly awaited the performances.

Street Dance Showdown

As the parade reached Tanauan Crossing, the excitement continued as the six clusters took center stage in the Tan-A We Street Dance Competition. 

With every beat of the music reverberating throughout the streets of the city, dancers filled the streets with movement and vibrancy, delivering performances that paid tribute to the heritage and identity of Tanauan.

Prior to the announcement of winners, Mayor Sonny Collantes invited everyone to stand, raise and wave their hands in unity, and sing along to the song ‘Umagang Kay Ganda.’

The moment became one of the most meaningful highlights of the evening. With every Tanaueño filling up Plaza Mabini and singing in unison, the gathering became a reminder that the progress of Tanauan rests not only on its leaders, but on every Tanaueño who shares the responsibility of building a better city.

As the song echoed through the plaza, the night sky soon surprised everyone as a fireworks display illuminated the city, remarked by Mayor Collantes as a symbol of a milestone of pride and progress for the city’s future.

Awarding of Winners

The evening concluded with the recognition of outstanding participants who each received plaque and cash prizes as they showcased excellence in creativity and performance throughout the festival.

In the Street Dance Competition, Cluster 1 was declared Champion, receiving a P170,000 cash prize. Cluster 3 bagged the 2nd Place title with P160,000, while Cluster 4 finished as 3rd Place, receiving P150,000. Cluster 5 was also recognized for its wardrobe after winning the Best in Costume title, receiving P30,000 cash.

Meanwhile, in the Landfloat Parade, AXS Prints and Signs | FLORA 4U | Teeslocker was hailed champion and received P150,000 for its outstanding and creative floral float.

The Tanauan City Cooperative Development earned its 1st Runner-Up title with P120,000, while Ulink Medical and Diagnostic Center was declared 2nd Runner-Up and received P100,000. Mando and Elvie’s Lutong Bahay was also recognized as the Best in Community Float with P30,000.

All participating landfloat entries were also awarded P25,000 consolation prizes in recognition of their efforts and contribution to the festival.

Commitment to Tanaueños

In his message, Mayor Sonny Collantes expressed gratitude to every Tanaueño and reaffirmed his commitment to serve the city with dedication and sincerity.

“Isa pong karangalan ang maging Mayor ng Lungsod ng Tanauan. Hinding-hindi ko po kayo pababayaan. Tanauan as one, walang maiiwan.”

Meanwhile, Congressman Atty. King Collantes reflected on the trust given to him by the people and assured them of his continued service.

“Hindi ho ako magiging Congressman kung wala kayong lahat. So every day ginagalingan ko, sinusubukan kong ibalik ang tiwala ninyo.”

Vice Mayor Dodong also shared a glimpse of what lies ahead for Tanauan’s next anniversary celebration.

“Sa isang taon, mas malaki ang pondo, mas mas maganda, mas bongga ang ating selebrasyon…Kukumbinsihin ko si Mayor [na] dagdagan natin ang papremyo para mas masaya ang ating anniversary.”

More than a festival, the week-long celebration of Tanauan’s 25th Cityhood Anniversary honored the strength, resilience, and unity of the Tanaueño people.

Through pageantry, dance, music, cultural expression, and community participation, the city celebrated not only its heritage but also the collective spirit and shared aspirations that continue to shape its future.

Like silver forged through time, Tanauan’s 25-year journey stands as a shining testament to its progress, the enduring pride of its people, and to the bright future that awaits the city.
