Tanauan City’s push for agricultural excellence has reached a new milestone as the Tanauan City Demo Farm is now officially recognized as a Certified Learning Site for Agriculture by the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) CALABARZON.
The certification was formally received by Mayor Sonny Perez Collantes, together with the Tanauan City FITS Center led by Mr. Sherwin Rimas. This recognition enables the city to expand training opportunities and promote advanced and sustainable farming practices among local farmers.
Mayor Collantes emphasized that the demo farm plays a crucial role in the city’s food security efforts and farmer education. Operated since 2012 in Sitio Dayapan, Barangay Bilog-Bilog, the 2.5-hectare farm also produces vermicompost for schools to promote sustainable agriculture among students.
The ceremony was attended by ATI CALABARZON Director Rolando Maningas, Councilor Czylene T. Marqueses, and Executive Assistant Angel Atienza.
This certification affirms Tanauan City’s dedication to strengthening the agriculture sector and empowering its farming community.
