Dismissed Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo was transported from Camp Crame, Quezon City to Pasig City Jail on Monday.
According to PNP, Guo (more accurately, Guo Hua Ping) is assigned to stay at the female dormitory of the Pasig City jail in Barangay Pinagbuhatan after approximately two weeks of detention in the Custodial Facility of PNP.
The spokesperson of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Jayrex Bustinera, said that Guo is to be detained in a cell with 40 other female detainees.
Guo is facing a qualified human trafficking complaint filed by the PNP-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group and the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission before the Department of Justice last June 21.
Guo fled the country last July 18 even with an existing arrest order issued by the Senate after failing to attend its hearings on illegal Philippine offshore gaming operations (POGO).
Tarlac Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 109 also issued a warrant of arrest against Guo for reportedly violating the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act last September 5. The case was then transferred from the Tarlac RTC to the Valenzuela RTC.
After being hunted by the authorities, Guo was arrested in Jakarta by Indonesian police on September 4 and was deported back to the Philippines on September 6.
