Dasmariñas, the largest city in Cavite with a population of 703,141, remains a center for education, culture, and development. Known as the University Capital of Cavite and home to the colorful Paru-Paro Festival, it continues to grow its urban competitiveness under Mayor Jenny Barzaga’s leadership.
One of the city’s landmark developments is the Dasmariñas Government Center, a modern facility that meets the city’s rising needs for education, public services, and sports. The Dasmariñas Socio-Economic Building is an important part of the facility, contributing to the city’s economic and social development.
The Dasmariñas Government Center features the Dasmariñas Arena, a major venue for sports, entertainment, and community engagement. This facility not only encourages urban development, but it also fosters a culture of sports, recreation, and community pride.
Additionally, the grandstand, football field, and oval offer a varied venue for athletic activities, concerts, and festivals, allowing Dasmarineños to actively participate and contribute to local economic growth.
Beyond infrastructure, Mayor Barzaga has led environmental initiatives such as the Green E-Skwela: Energy Sustainability Project for Public Schools. This project focuses on integrating solar power into public schools, and 14 schools have been given solar panels as an alternative energy source.
“With our goal to focus on the environment, this project will have a huge impact on providing clean and sufficient power to the people of Dasmariñas while contributing to saving our planet in partnership with prosperity,” Mayor Barzaga stated in a Facebook post.
Her commitment to leadership was honored with the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) award last year, December 10, 2024. The award recognizes her administration’s integrity, efficiency, and cooperation with local government leaders and constituents.
