The Creamline Cool Smashers continue their legacy as they capture their ninth championship title in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference.
The number 3 in rank, Cool Smashers hammer down the number one seed team Akari Chargers into 3 straight sets 25-25, 25-23, 25-27.
Bernadeth Pons was awarded as the finals MVP and MVP of the conference scoring 19 points 12 excellent digs and 13 receptions against Akari. Pons expresses her gratitude for winning her first ever Reinforced championship title.
”Sobrang saya, thank you Lord, since this is my first Reinforced championship,” said Pons.
Without their key players Tots Carlos and Alyssa Valdez due to injuries and Jema Galanza committed to Alas Pilipinas. The head coach of Creamline, Sherwin Meneses, still managed their players to get the championship title.
“All of our championships make me proud because each one is special, but this one stands out because we were missing a lot of key players,” Coach Meneses stated.
“Despite that, our players worked so hard, and we still managed to win the championship,” he added.
Michelle Gumabao served as team captain despite the absence of Alyssa Valdez. Gumabao brings leadership to Creamline to secure a championship title.
“We worked hard for this, training every day to prepare for this moment,” said Gumabao.
“As long as we support each other with every point, we’re in this together. That’s what defines us,” she added.
