Liquor Ban in Muntinlupa amidst the Bar Examinations

During the 2024 Bar Examination on Sept 8,11 and 15, the local government of Muntinlupa will be implementing a liquor ban and this would cover a 500-meter radius around one of the testing centers in San Beda College-Alabang (SBCA) for the Bar Examinations.

The date for the implementation of liquor ban will be starting on September 7.

Compared to last year’s number of 14 testing sites, this year’s testing site for the Bar Examination will be 13.University of the Philippines-Diliman in Quezon City, Manila Adventist College in Pasay, University of Santo Tomas and San Beda University in Manila, and University of the Philippines-Bonifacio Global City Taguig are the five other locations in the National Capital Region (NCR).

While in Luzon, the designated testing centers are Saint Louis University in Baguio City and University of Nueva Caceres in Naga City.For the Visayas, University of San Jose-Recoletos in Cebu City, Central Philippine University in Iloilo City and Dr. V. Orestes Romualdez Educational Foundation in Tacloban City.

Xavier University in Cagayan de Oro City and Ateneo de Davao University in Davao City are the testing centers in Mindanao.

The Bar exams will include six main subjects:

  • Political and Public International Law (15 percent)
  • Commercial and Taxation Laws (20 percent)
  • Civil Law (20 percent)
  • Labor Law and Social Legislation (10 percent)
  • Criminal Law (10 percent)
  • Remedial Law, Legal and Judicial Ethics with Practical Exercises (25 percent)

According to the Supreme Court, up to 12,246 law graduates have signed up for the Bar exams.
