Telegram CEO arrested in France for failing to curb illegal content on the app

A source close to the case revealed that Pavel Durov, the CEO and founder of Telegram was arrested in France because of failing to curb illegal content on the app and also being investigated for ‘serious acts of violence’ against one of his children.

The alleged violence happened in Paris and just recently opened by the French child welfare office concerning Durov’s son who is living with his mother in Switzerland. The mother filed a legal complaint in Switzerland last year, accusing Durov of violent acts against their son.

The case alleges that Durov was violent to their youngest son five times between 2021 and 2022. The alleged violence suffered anxiety to the child, bed wetting and regular sleep problems, according to court filings seen by AFP.
