Akari Chargers became the third club team to finish the first round with a clean 8-0 record after the intense match against the Farm Fresh Foxies in 2024 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference.
Akari continue to dominate the teams in the PVL Reinforced Conference. Akari beat down Farm Fresh Foxies into three straight sets, 25-19, 25-22, 25-19 on Tuesday, August 24, resulting in an immaculate standing 8-0 in the elimination round.
Akari made history makers, along with the veteran teams Creamline and Cignal having dominated the preliminary round. The American Import Oly Okaro has been consistent by producing 18 points to eliminate the foxies in the quarter final.
The team captain of Akari, Michelle Cobb provided 17 excellent sets and 6 points despite being deemed questionable due to sickness, Cobb sealed the eight streak wins for the chargers.
This is the first time for Akari to enter the PVL playoffs for the first time in team history, and most importantly as the top seed.
The Chargers will wait for the playoff between the Flying Titans and High Speed Hitters. The Choco Mucho still have a chance to enter the quarterfinals if they are gonna be able to win against PLDT in its last game.
